Every year, Mkazipreneur holds Mkazipreneur Impact Awards to celebrate the outstanding achievements of female-owned businesses in Uganda. The first edition was held in November 2022.
The awards procedure includes submission of nominees submissions, selection & shortlisting of top nominees, and selection of winners by a panel of experienced judges
The awards are held in 11 categories. These include;
• Most Innovative Business: Due to COVID-19, many businesses were forced to rethink their business processes to improve on existing products and services. This category recognizes businesses that introduced new ideas, services, and products to meet the evolving demands of the market.
• Environmental Impact: This category recognizes an outstanding female business with a deep commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.
• Agricultural Impact: This category recognizes an outstanding female business with a deep commitment to Agricultural growth.
• Use of Technology: This category will recognize the continuous effort by female businesses to digitize their businesses to offer fast and efficient customer service.
• Community/Social Impact: This category will recognize community and social impact. What impact has your business had in your community regarding economic growth, and sustainability (e.g., employment opportunities)?
• Outstanding woman entrepreneur in the northern region: This award will recognize female business excellence in the northern region, based on brand reputation, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and the quality of service or product in the market.
• Outstanding woman entrepreneur in central region: This award will recognize female business excellence in the central region, based on brand reputation, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and the quality of service or product in the market.
• Outstanding woman entrepreneur in the southern region: This award will recognize female business excellence in the southern region, based on brand reputation, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and the quality of service or product in the market.
• Outstanding woman entrepreneur in the Western region: This award will recognize female business excellence in the Western region, based on brand reputation, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and the quality of service or product in the market.
• Outstanding woman entrepreneur in Eastern region: This award will recognize female business excellence in the eastern region, based on brand reputation, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and the quality of service or product in the market.
• Emerging female Young Entrepreneur of the year: This category will recognize an upcoming female young entrepreneur between 18 – 25 years who is challenging the status quo to run a business.
